MyProStory — Quick User Guide
Try these key features and let us know what works — or what doesn’t.
1. Sign Up & Onboarding
Action
- 1Go to the Sign Up page.
- 2Choose to sign up using either Google One-Tap or Email Magic Link.
- 3If using Email Magic Link, check your inbox and click the sign-in link.
- 4On the onboarding page, enter your display name and choose your public username. Click Finish Setup.
Expected Result
- You will sign in securely without ever creating a password.
- Your chosen username automatically creates your personal web address (
yourusername.myprostory.com). - Completing onboarding automatically lands you on your main account dashboard.
2. Create a Portfolio from a CV
Action
- 1Click Start Template or New Portfolio.
- 2On Step 1, click Upload CV/Resume and select a PDF or Word document (or click Import LinkedIn and select your exported LinkedIn PDF).
- 3Watch the automatic extraction complete, then review the auto-filled experience, education, skills, and bio.
- 4Step through the remaining customization screens, choose your preferred design template and colors, and click Publish Portfolio.
Expected Result
- The system automatically parses your document and populates your portfolio details.
- Supported file formats are PDF, DOC, and DOCX.
- Upon publishing, a confirmation window will pop up with a direct link to view your live, published portfolio.
3. Passcode-Protect a Portfolio
Action
- 1On your dashboard portfolio list, click the Lock / Unlock icon on any portfolio card.
- 2Enable passcode protection in the popup window and take note of the assigned passcode.
- 3Open a new private/incognito browser window and visit your portfolio web address.
- 4Enter the assigned passcode on the lock screen.
Expected Result
- Unauthenticated visitors seeing a protected portfolio are presented with a lock screen prompting for a passcode.
- Entering the correct passcode immediately unlocks and displays the full portfolio.
4. Edit a Portfolio
Action
- 1Click on any portfolio card from your dashboard to open the Portfolio Editor.
- 2Use the right-hand panel to update basic information, change the accent color under Styles, or upload/replace your Profile Photo under Assets.
- 3Click Save Changes in the top bar to save your updates.
Tester Note: Additional section editing features (such as detailed inline experience and project editors) are currently being finalized and will be available soon.
Expected Result
- The central preview updates live as you type and change options.
- Clicking Discard reverts unsaved changes back to their last saved state.
5. Search for a Domain & Reach Checkout
Action
- 1Go to Domain Management in your dashboard.
- 2Type a domain name into the domain search box and click Search.
- 3Review the availability, price, and suggested alternatives.
- 4Click Purchase on an available domain to open the checkout page.
Safe testing stop point: As soon as the checkout page displays your selected domain and price summary, testing is complete. You do not need to enter payment details or complete the purchase.
Expected Result
- The search instantly checks real-time availability and displays clear pricing.
- Clicking Purchase leads directly to the secure checkout summary page.
6. Create & Export a Business Card
Action
- 1Go to Business Cards in your dashboard and click New Card (or Create First Card).
- 2Select your display name, title, contact details, design theme, and brand color.
- 3Select one of your active published portfolios from the Linked Published Portfolio dropdown.
- 4Use the Flip button to preview front and back sides, then click Export to select your download format.
Tester Note: Generating a working QR code on a business card requires having at least one active published portfolio. If no published portfolio is linked, a prompt will instruct you to select or publish one first.
Expected Result
- Linking an active published portfolio generates a live QR code on the back of your business card pointing directly to your online portfolio.
- You can export the front side only (PNG), back side only (PNG), or both sides bundled together (ZIP archive).
